Read MoreMaintaining a lawn requires more than just mowing. Sometimes, you need to trim the edges to give it that perfect finish. If you own a John Deere Z9 mower, you might be considering adding a string trimmer or weed eater kit. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you mount it seamlessly.

In this kit:
Mate the two bracket pieces by aligning the slotted sides. Using the rounded head bolts, secure the brackets. Ensure the bolts enter from the top side, which has square-headed holes. Tighten the bolts using a 13mm socket, ensuring the slots align perfectly.
Remove the nut from the bolt holding up the rear fender using a 13mm wrench. Attach the assembled bracket to the mower, ensuring the single hole side is at the top. Secure the bracket in place by tightening the nut.
Align the bracket with the rollover protection system of the mower. Use the long bolts provided in the kit to secure the bracket in place. Tighten the bolts for a firm fit.
Identify the strap piece for the front side of your mower's right fork. Use the long-stemmed round head bolts to attach the bracket. Adjust the bracket as needed, ensuring you can still access the grease zerk. Tighten the bolts using a 13mm socket.
Use the larger rubber clamp for the rear and the smaller one for the front. Secure the clamps using the 10mm flange-headed bolts provided. Adjust the clamps as needed, ensuring they hold the trimmer securely.

Place your weed eater or string trimmer onto the rear clamp. Secure it in place using the front clamp. Ensure the trimmer is held firmly and doesn't interfere with the mower's operations.
