Dash Panel Removal
Begin by using your drill with an 8mm socket to remove the windshield clasp bolts. Then, switch to the T40 star bit to take out six screws from the front panel. You’ll find two pop-out clips on each side of the dash, which can be removed with a flathead screwdriver.
With the dash panel off, you can access the backend to install the turn signal and hazard light switches. Plug the switches into the corresponding connectors provided by the front attachment wiring harness, which must be pre-installed.
Remove the front reflectors and pop-outs where the turn signals will be installed. Once the reflector is removed, remove the black piece behind it as well. Then, feed your new turn signal lights into the hole and snap into place. Do this on both sides.
Next, Locate the wiring harness and the back of the new turn signal light under the gator, above the tires on each side. Connect the wiring harness to the back of the light with a simple click system that ensures they are securely attached.
You will also need to install the hazard light switch into the front of the dash on the right side. Pop out the cover that is currently covering the hole you want to install the swtich into, then locate the wiring harness inside the exposed dash to be used for the harzard lights. This switch will be red and will have a tag attached with the triangular hazard symbol seen below. Pull the wiring harness through the hole and plug in the hazard light switch. Simply push this back into the hole until fastened to complete installation.
Before reassembling the dash, test the turn signals and hazard lights to ensure they function correctly. Activate the switches and check both the front and rear signals to confirm they are working as expected.
Once you’ve confirmed the functionality, carefully replace the dash panel, ensuring all clips and screws are securely fastened. Be gentle around the instrument cluster to avoid any damage.
