In the kit:
Tools needed:
Place the strobe light onto the bracket aligning the holes. Insert the bolts through the light into the bracket then flip and secure the nuts onto the bolts using the Allen wrench, ratchet wrench, and socket. Tighten everything up with your Allen wrench, ensuring a snug fit.
Position the light assembly on the ROPS, ensuring it faces the rear and remains accessible for wiring. Attach the provided u-bolts around the ROPS, threading them through the mounting plate and securing with the flange nuts. Aim for a centered position and tighten with a 15-millimeter socket.
First, connect the small end of the wiring harness to the light, then route the cord down the ROPS, using zip ties to secure it along the frame.
If your Z7 model lacks a pre-installed headlight switch, you will need to remove the panel using a T20 screwdriver and install both a headlight switch and the beacon light switch. The machine we are working on for the purposes of this article has a light switch already installed.
With the headlight switch pre-installed, all that is left is to install the beacon light switch included in your kit. There is no need to remove the panel to do this for the mower we are working on. To start, simply raise the seat and locate the two designated plugs on the backside of the panel, as shown here.
Once located, disconnect the plugs and connect them to the corresponding ends of the new wiring harness included in your kit. Then, plug in the beacon light switch to the other end of the wiring harness and tuck the harness down away into the side of the mower leaving the switch accessible for later use, as shown.
To see if everything is working correctly, flip the key switch to the "on" position to activate the existing lights if your model has them. Then flip the new switch to light up the Beacon.
And that's it! Your Beacon Light should be operational, casting a safety glow around your mower.
