In this guide, we'll walk you through the easy process of installing a floor mat on your mower's foot platform. Whether you want to minimize vibration, improve grip, or enhance overall convenience, this step-by-step guide will help you get the job done in no time.

Positioning the Mat

To begin, locate the six holes on the top section of your foot platform, on the footrest, and the two holes in the front corners towards just below the footrest. These holes serve as the mounting points for your floor mat.

Lay the floor mat onto the foot platform, ensuring the holes on the mat align with the corresponding holes on the foot platform. Take your time to line them up accurately on both sides.

Securing the Mat

To secure the floor mat in place, you'll need the small pegs included inside the floor mat kit. For now, only insert the pegs through the two holes located in the corners of the foot platform. Push the pegs through the holes in the floor mat and into the corresponding holes on the foot platform. Push the pegs firmly to ensure a secure fit. Place one peg in each corner of the mat.

At this point, you have two options for further securing the mat. You can either use the additional plugs that come with the floor mat kit, or utilize the footrests found inside the John Deere Footrest Kit (purchased separately, not included in John Deere Floor Mat Kit). The choice depends on your preference and desired functionality.

Footrest Kit Option

If you opt for the footrests, position the footrest handles through the holes in the mat and into the corresponding holes at the top of the foot platform, as shown. Align the footrest handles vertically or horizontally based on your preference. Then, plug the remaining two holes on the floor mat and foot platform with two of the pegs included in the floor mat kit. This will secure the mat to the foot platform and provide you with footrests to utilize while mowing allowing for more comfort.

Floor Mat Peg Option

Alternatively, if you prefer not to use the footrest kit, you will need to insert the additional pegs included in the floor mat kit into the remaining 6 holes on the mat itself. This will effectively secure the mat to the mowers foot platform without the additional purchase of the John Deere Footrest Kit.
