How to Install a MowerPlus Smart Connector on a X300 Series Mower

Have you downloaded the John Deere MowerPlus app on your mobile device yet? This free app allows you access to tons of insights into things like mower health, attachments, route tracking, etc. by communicating with your mower via Bluetooth. In order to pair your device to your machine, you’ll first need to install the John Deere MowerPlus Smart Connector Bluetooth Kit attachment which we outline below.

Installation

The first step in this process is to unplug Wiring Harness A currently fitted into the back of the display monitor. Next, plug the male end of Wiring Harness B (shown below) into the newly exposed female socket behind the display. Then, plug the male end of Wiring Harness A into the female end of Wiring Harness B as shown below. For reference, Wiring Harness B will be your John Deere MowerPlus Smart Connector Bluetooth Kit harness.

Notice the smaller plug featured on Wiring Harness B. This will be plugged into the Bluetooth Transmitter (shown below) allowing your mower to connect to the MowerPlus app on your mobile device.

Now that everything is hooked up correctly, start your mower and attempt to pair your mobile device to the MowerPlus Smart Connector. Once that is done, your mower should automatically connect to the MowerPlus app when opened. If not, check your wiring harness connection and/or Bluetooth connection.

If the connection is working properly, the next step is to secure the wiring harnesses to the underside of the mower dashboard. Do this by tucking it up and away and using the clips found along Wiring Harness B to hold it in place. Then simply close the mower hood to complete install.
